West Cavan & Leitrim Landscape
An early rendezvous with fellow photographer Niall got us to the foot of Slieve Anierin (also known in Irish as ‘Sliabh an Iarainn’, or ‘Iron Mountain’) before sunrise. These mountains are at relative low altitudes at just under 600m and only 30 minutes drive from where we live. A friendly local sheep farmer guided us in the right direction to the trail head. Approaching the summit the cloud dissipated as quickly as it engulfed us. This shot was taken on our descent alongside a cliff edge (left off frame) as the cloud cleared.
