Old Head of Kinsale

The good weather on a recent trip to Cork over the Easter weekend yielded some nice results. This is the Old Head of Kinsale, an infamous golf course in Cork jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. It is an extraordinary course with magnificent scenery (on a clear day at least!).

Taken just before sunset I stacked some ND grad filters to tone done the sky and retail cloud detail whilst creating a smooth surface on the sea with a 2 second shutter speed. Aperture was set at f/16 to achieve front to back sharpness.

The position I took this shot from is not for the faint hearted. There is a vertical drop to the rocky shore below just less than one metre from where I was standing.
